Ishant Sharma Set For County Stint After IPL Snub – Even after being in the Indian Cricket team for a long time now, no takers were there for Ishant Sharma in the cash-rich tournament. Ishant Sharma is a frontline bowler when it comes to Test cricket. But T20 cricket has not been his game till now.
Ishant Sharma will follow the footstep of another Indian test cricketer, Cheteshwar Pujara and will play County cricket in the summer. The tall Indian bowler is set to play for English county side Sussex in five first-class and eight List A games
The Indian Premier League 2018 is scheduled to start from 7th April 2018. The league will continue for next odd 50 days.
According to Sussex official website, Ishant Sharma is waiting for the approval from BCCI. The county cricket is expected to get the Ishant Sharma’s service for a period of two months which is roughly estimated to be 4th April to 4th June 2018. Ishant Sharma is set to play first five County Championship fixtures and all Royal London One Day Cup group matches.

Ishant Sharma has enjoyed a notable success in England conditions. His 7/74 figures in Lords Test helped India to win the test match at the prolific venue. He also had a vital role in 2013 Champions Trophy win. Moreover, the county stint can also prove important for upcoming India’s tour to England.
The 29-year-old Delhi boy has been in and out of Indian team due to various reasons. Debut in 2007, Ishant Sharma has played 81 Tests, 80 ODIs and 14 T20Is for the Indian team.
With 234 wickets he is one of the best Indian bowlers in Indian Test history. Only three seamers have more wickets than Ishant Sharma. Ishant has been a full-time bowler in longer format for India. Whereas he has struggled when it comes to limited overs cricket. He has 115 ODI and 8 T20 dismissals to his name in limited overs cricket.
