The left-handed batsman opened the batting for Kiwis along with Martin Guptill. With 3 fours and 10 massive sixes, Colin Munro blasted century in just 47 balls. With this effort, Munro helped New Zealand to reach 243/5 in the final T20 match against West Indies at Mount Maunganui.
Colin Munro also became fastest New Zealander to score a century in T20. He replaced Brendon McCullum’s 50 ball century against Australia in Christchurch in 2010.
Any cricket follower will accept that this was not the most polished innings by Colin Munro. Miscues and luck also had a part to play but Munro found the boundary line regularly which matters the most in the game of cricket.
He also equaled the New Zealander record of smashing 10 sixes in T20 innings. The record was set by Corey Anderson a year ago.
Colin Munro’s innings also helped New Zealand to finish strong 243/5 which is their highest total in T20 match. The previous best total for Kiwis was 213.

- 47 ball century is the fastest T20 century for any New Zealander. The previous record was held by Brendon McCullum.
- Colin Munro scored three fifties in three matches. He becomes the second player to do so after Virat Kohli. Virat had managed to get 90*, 59* and 50 vs Australia in 2016.
